Clipping service
How does the clipping procedure proceed?
If you are interested in the clipping service, you can reach the team by phone, by e-mail or via the contact form. Briefly describe your request and provide your telephone number or e-mail address. Our colleagues will contact you as soon as possible and provide you with an access. You can send your test picture via this. The finished pictures are returned within a few hours with price. If you are interested in the offer, you can still send pictures via this account. People instead of machines! Please let us know your special wishes and special requirements. How long is the processing time for the clipping of pictures?
The images are processed and provided by the clipping team within a few hours. Depending on the volume of the order, the clipping of the images takes a maximum of 24 hours.

How do I get my personal FTP access?
After you have registered through the contact form, the team will contact you and send you your personal FTP access at the same time. This account can be used for sending test pictures as well as for other projects. Keep your login data safe and do not pass it on to unauthorized third parties!

How do I get my personal 3W SAFEBOX access?
After you have registered through the contact form, the team will contact you and send you your personal access at the same time. Please check your spam folder to see if you received the e-mail. The procedure is the same as for your FTP access and can be used both for test pictures and for future projects. You can also use the 3W SAFEBOX at any time for other projects on www.3wsafebox.com.

How are the data delivered?
We will upload the finished data directly to your FTP server or send as a download link via our 3W SAFEBOX. The 3W SAFEBOX downloadlink is valid for 7 days. You can then request the link again to the payment receipt. We can also transfer your finished data to an FTP destination of your choice. For this, we need the access data and the folder of the target server. If you prefer another transfer service, you can discuss this with us. We will find a common solution!

What image processing service does freistellen.de offer?
In addition to the clipping of product photos of all kinds, as well as persons, animals, etc., the team of freistellen.de also offers retouching, shading and mirroring effects, montages, scaling and coloring. In addition, your pictures can be made according to Amazon, Ebay and Google guidelines.

What techniques exist for people or hair clipping?
A whole range of techniques can be applied to the hair clipping. Brushing, drawing and wiping of hair is also possible as well as the selection of hair simulation. In addition, hairbrush presettings and copying sources can be applied for mistake correction during clipping. Further techniques exist. However, in practice, the alpha-mask mask has been most effective. This technique offers the greatest functionality when the portrait has been photographed against a white background. Via the most contrasting color channel – the alpha channel – the clipping is done with a graphics software like Photoshop.

What is a Hollow-Man-Montage?
The Hollow-Man technique is a combination of photography and post-production on the computer. First, a piece of clothing is pulled onto a fashion doll and photographed. Afterwards a further picture of the inside covered by the doll is necessary. Both images are combined into a plastic object using image processing software. The Hollow-Man method requires extensive photographic knowledge and advanced know-how of software for image processing.

What kind of materials are required for a Hollow-Man-Montage?
For the three-dimensional clipping with the Hollow-Man method, two shots are required. The first shot shows the object with the doll from the front. The second shot must show the inside of the covered area. From this material the garment is put together.

What quality do the images have?
Basically any image can be edited. The better, however, the quality, the more accurate can be made when looking for subtleties. Therefore, the transmission of images with the highest possible resolution is recommended.

What format must the images have?
Any format is possible! Examples of formats are .tif, .raw, .jpg, .gif, .bmp, .png. Basically, editing is possible with every image. In all cases, the better the starting material, the better the result.

In what format can the pictures be delivered?
Even if you have “only” sent a file in a certain format, you can deliver it in the following formats: jpg, png, psg, tif, eps.

Are certain formats less expensive than others?
No. The same price applies to all formats. Share your desired format and it will be delivered accordingly.

How are the various image formats different?
With the countless picture formats you can quickly lose the overview. Each format is universally usable, but has been developed for a specific purpose. A brief overview of the properties of the image formats:
.jpg
The most common format. Due to the high compression, jpg is very popular in hobby photography. In addition, the embedding of paths is possible. However, the high compression results in losses in the representation.
.psd
The own format of the image processing software Adobe Photoshop. All available image information is stored. This includes layers, channels, and vectors. Disadvantages for the dispatch are the information files very large files.
.tif
The very versatile format is preferred by companies in the provision of press photos. As with the format .jpg, it is also possible for .tif files to embed paths.
.png
Like the .gif format, .png also supports transparency and is therefore very popular on the Internet. In addition, the format has proved to be optimal when images are to be compressed without losses. However, not all applications support Portable Networks Graphics.
.gif
These pictures are widely used on the Internet. With the Graphics Interchange format, not only simple animations, but also background information can be displayed transparently. However, .gif images are not suitable for high-quality product photography due to the low number of only 256 colors.
.bmp
Images in the Windows Bitmap format, many commonly known as Windows Paint, are rarely used on the Internet due to low compression.
.raw
Means translated from the English “raw” and thus is already said a lot. The raw data has to be postprocessed and the files are correspondingly large. .raw does not refer to a specific format, but is a collective term for the raw data of different manufacturers.

Are the data safe with you?
We guarantee the security of your data. A special agreement can also be concluded with companies for this purpose.

What happens after the order has been completed?
Your data is irrevocably deleted from your personal FTP account after receipt of payment. We therefore recommend that you back up the data you need beforehand.

What payment methods are available?
Payments are made by invoice, by bank transfer or via Paypal. To create a customer file, we ask you to submit your invoice data before the order.

When will the invoice be issued?
Regular customers have the option of monthly payment and you can also choose a desired payment date. In order to avoid a high cost of invoicing in general, we offer the monthly billing in normal cases, without selecting a specific date. Direct invoicing after a successful order is also possible in principle. Please contact our freistellen.de-team in this case. We’re here to help!

Is VAT included in the invoices?
The invoices are generated with VAT according to German law. If you are abroad and you have a VAT ID, you will be issued an invoice without VAT. Please provide this number before the order processing. The number is checked by our system and deposited with validity.
